Add a whole roster to your club from one spreadsheet: the template, what happens to members with and without an email, and how big lists and invite emails are handled.
The members import adds people to your club's roster from one XLSX or CSV file, with no tournaments involved. Use it when you move a club to The Club House, or when you have a list too long to type in. To bring in tournaments and their results as well, see Importing Tournaments and Results.
On the Upload step, download the members template as XLSX or CSV. When you open a new club, the Bring your players step offers the same template. It has two columns, one person per row:
Columns headed name and email work too, so most exports from another app or a contacts list import as they are. A workbook with a Members sheet, such as the tournament import's, imports that sheet and ignores the rest.
The person is invited to the club and gets an invite email. Someone who already has an account also sees the invitation in the app; someone without one joins by signing up with the address it was sent to.
The person joins as a guest straight away, ready to register for games. You can add their email later.
Members go in batches sized to the file, about ten whatever its length, so a progress bar shows how far the import has got. Each batch is added completely or not at all. If one fails, the others carry on, and the summary lists the rows that could not be imported, with Try again and Download. The download is a CSV of those rows with the reason for each, ready to fix and upload again.
Importing the same file twice is safe: everyone already in the club is skipped.
Invite emails go out after the members are added, in batches, and the progress bar shows them sending. Invited members who already have an account see the invitation in the app straight away, whether or not the email has arrived.
The new members are on the club's Members page. Invited members show as invited until they accept, and guests can be registered for games right away.
