League Scoring and Standings

How league scoring is configured and what Free users can change.

Scoring configuration

Leagues store the scoring system, formula, number of players to score, tiebreakers, and certain sensitivity settings used by the leaderboard.

Use Points System

This toggle decides whether the leaderboard is driven by calculated points or by non-points ranking and tiebreaker metrics.

Scoring System

You can choose from Dr. Neau's Formula, Logarithmic, Square Root, Linear, Fixed, or Custom scoring.

Formula

The formula field holds the calculation used for points. Custom formulas can use variables such as total players, rank, buy-in cost, total cost, knockouts, and prize pool.

Players to Receive Points

This value controls how deep into the finishing order the league awards points.

How to configure league scoring

  1. Open the league you want to manage.
  2. Open the league settings.
  3. Turn on Use Points System if you want the leaderboard to run on points.
  4. Choose the scoring system you want to use.
  5. If you choose Custom, enter your own formula.
  6. Set how many finishing places should receive points.
  7. Choose the tie-break metrics and their order.
  8. Save the league.

Formula variables

  • p β€” total number of players
  • r β€” the player rank or finishing position
  • b β€” buy-in cost
  • tc β€” total tournament contributions including buy-ins, rebuys, and add-ons
  • k β€” number of knockouts (currently evaluated as 0 in the points engine)
  • pz β€” prize pool

Tiebreakers and sensitive settings

Tiebreakers define how players are separated when their primary ranking values match. The available measures include wins, second places, third places, games played, ROI, total spent, total prize, total profit, and other leaderboard fields.

Some of those values are treated as sensitive, especially ROI, Total Spent, and Total Profit. Those can be controlled through the league sensitivity settings so the leaderboard only shows what you want visible.

Preview and testing

When points scoring is enabled, the league setup includes a preview so you can see how the current formula would distribute points before committing to it.

Standings

League standings are built from tournament results inside that league.

In points mode, standings rank players by the calculated points total. When points are not used, the leaderboard relies on win and stat-based ranking with the configured tiebreakers deciding close results.

League settings access

League scoring, tie-breakers, and sensitivity settings can be edited from league settings on both Free and Premium. On the Free plan, tournament creation and tournament management are still limited to the club's current default league.
