Re-entry, house fees and guarantees

Let busted players buy in again, take a house fee on each entry, guarantee a prize pool, pay places by a % of the field, keep a jackpot back and give early-bird chips.

Weekly tournaments in most card rooms are re-entry tournaments with a house fee, a guaranteed prize pool and places paid as a share of the field. The Club House runs all of it from the tournament's Payouts page.

Re-entry

Choose Re-entry as the tournament type. A player who busts can buy in again while registration is open: they get a new entry, the starting stack and a new seat drawn at random. Every entry adds to the prize pool and counts toward the places paid. The player stays one line on the players list, with an Entries count that opens the history of their entries. The bust before a re-entry stays a knockout for whoever made it, in league points and in every stat.

  • Set a limit under Re-entry in What a player pays, or leave it at No limit.
  • Re-entries close with registration. Close registration by hand, or at a level under Settings.
  • A re-entry can be undone from the action log until the player busts again.
  • Reinstate is different: it takes back a bust that should not have happened.

House fees

Add a Fee beside the buy-in price. A $160 price with a $40 fee is a $200 entry, shown everywhere as "$200 (160+40)". Only the price goes into the prize pool. Players' spend includes the fee; league points do not change. Fees show to the club's hosts on the Payouts overview, never to players or on a TV.

Guarantee and overlay

Set a Guarantee to promise a minimum prize pool, such as $4,000 GTD. When the entries fall short, the pool is still the guarantee, and the difference (the overlay) is what the house adds. The overlay shows to hosts only. A set amount always wins over a guarantee.

Premium money rules

  • These are a Premium feature, judged by the club owner's plan.
  • Places paid by % of the field: 12% of 50 entries pays 6 places, and the payouts follow as entries come in.
  • Reserves: keep a named share of what is collected back before payouts, such as a 1% jackpot.
  • Early-bird chips: every player in their seat when the clock first starts gets the bonus on their first entry. Untick a player in their details to take it back.
