Running a Tournament
What happens once a tournament is open or running.
Tournament states
Tournaments are commonly created in an OPEN state and then moved into live play when the event starts.
Player management
From the tournament pages you can register players, eliminate players, track results, and complete the event.
Settings you can adjust while running
Registrations
You can open or close registrations and, when registrations are open, share the registration link with players.
Tournament Type
You can set the tournament as Freezeout or Buy-in. Freezeout removes rebuy and add-on availability.
Start Time and Details
Name, location, and start time can be maintained from the tournament settings page.
Sound Controls
You can control round-change sounds, the one-minute warning, and the five-second countdown.
Payout handling
Payouts are generated from the tournament configuration and prize pool inputs such as buy-ins, rebuys, and add-ons where enabled.
Premium-only controls
- Adding tournament admins is a Premium feature.
- Resetting a tournament back to its starting state is a Premium feature.
- Some tournament actions are also restricted on Free if the tournament is not in the current default league.
Resetting tournaments
A reset removes all players and returns the tournament to its initial open state, including resetting blind progress. Because this clears live progress, it is treated as a higher-risk action.
